Being a golfer means being fit: For people who want to be physically and mentally at full strength, the sport is the perfect activity. Because golf is healthy: A round on the golf course strengthens the muscles, psyche and the own immune system. Instead of a leisurely stroll, golfers spend about four hours on an 18-hole course, covering an average distance of nine kilometres.
The Roxburghe Championship Golf Course was opened in 1997, to offer exactly this experience. As the result of the work of golf course architect Dave Thomas the design bears his distinct hallmark of well positioned bunkers and large USGA rolling greens. This 7100 yard 72-par course follows natural contours, mature beech woods, dramatic water hazards, and uses clever bunkering to spectacular effect making this a "must play" venue.
